Competitive bids give you a chance
At Paint Estimators, we understand that competitive bids are key to winning business in the painting industry. Estimates are only the first step, but an important one when building a successful business. That's why we're dedicated to providing you with accurate and consistent estimates that will give you a competitive edge.
Short answer is this, “takeoffs and bids are never wrong.”
Let us explain why. Takeoffs are determined by interpreting what the plans and specifications are telling us. Many times, there are contradictions and/or discrepancies within the bid documents. We do our best to review everything and determine and interpret what makes the most sense based upon our experience completing take offs and completing painting projects. We then provide you, our customer, with this information.
With this information you then write the scope of the work, always including your list of exclusions and clarifications. You price each line item on the takeoff, prepare your proposal and send it to the owner and/or General contractors who request the bid.
Now your customer can review and inquire if he or she feels there is something wrong, high, or low.
Remember, a scope review works for the benefit of the owner/contractor and you the subcontractor. You then can confirm if the scope is complete or if the scope needs to be modified. At this time, you can fine tune your number based on the specific need of your customer.
We highly recommend everyone completes a scope review for every job. This is the only way to ensure both parties are on the same page and ensure the successful completion of every job.
What Our Customers Say
Plans are an interpretation of what the architect is creating. We do our best to qualify and quantify what the plans tell us to paint. With this information we can then price the project.
